Black Glass Theme for ADW Launcher [v1.7]

Nov 28 2010 · 22 comments · Blog

I’ve discontinued my work on this and pulled all paid versions from the market for now but I will eventually release a brand new adw theme with all of my previous themes built into one.

Update Dec 31, 2010 – v1.7 – visible to android 2.1 devices in the market

Update Dec 29, 2010 – v1.7 beta posted

Update Dec 27, 2010 – v1.6 – mdpi support – please email me or leave a comment if you have any issues with the mdpi support

Update Dec 3, 2010 – v1.5 – More icon support for blur/droidx/sense/vibrant apps and a new market place icon

Update Dec 2, 2010 – v1.4 – More icons and new search widget skin

Update Nov 28, 2010 – v1.3 – Support for ADW 1.3 and finally in the marketplace

- The newer version has a few more icons but also has the icon_pack support fixed. You can use any icon in the pack as a custom icon for any shortcuts you make.

- I included an icon item for the original launcher icon for those that are upset about it. I personally like the new icon but whatever’s clever.

- Requires adw launcher 1.3 or higher

- Still only support for hdpi

Is it possible to get JUST the icons for this pack? I stopped liking ADW and am using a new home launcher but I’m in LOVE with these icons!

Sure no problem. Do you want me to just zip them all up and post them here? or how do you want me to get them to you?

does it turn the notification bar black 2?

Sorry no it doesn’t. You would need to have root and use a morph or other system theme to get the black notification bar.

BTW to the moderator: I posted the question few days ago and is there a reason why my u deleted my post? My original post was the same as the one I reposted below. I basically would like to know how to do the setting, as I’ve recently downloaded the theme. I didn’t use any offensive language.

Hey sorry, I don’t think your original post was deleted I just have been a bit busy and haven’t been around to approve some outstanding comments, sorry about that. Anyway about the reflections, those are only shown on the dockbar, which is the secondary dock you can bring up in ADW. Let me know if you need help bringing up the dockbar, you can map it to a gesture or the home button or whatever you want. Then just drag some icons down to it and they should automatically have reflections.

Hi, can you tell me how to get those icons with reflection on the dock? like the screenshot #3 on this webpage? I downloaded the theme, but I couldn’t find the setting to have the icons on the dock show reflection. BTW, I’ve a live wallpaper and running on android 2.2.

Help! I downloaded this theme, but I couldn’t find the setting for the dock where the icons show reflection? like the screenshot #3 on this website. Does anybody know how to set the icons on the dock to show reflection?

I’m using Android 2.1. I can find this theme in the market and download it, but how do I “activate” the theme?

You will need to go into the ADW specific settings to activate it. When on your home screen, click the menu button, then enter ADW Settings. From there you will need to click on “Theme preferences” and you can apply my theme from there.

I’m new to ADW and I think your themes look great. Unfortunately, I’m using android 2.1 and can’t try them out. Are there any plans to make them compatible with 2.1 or is there some inherent limitation to the theme that requires froyo?

Yeah I plan on making my themes compatible with 2.1. There was no specific requirement other than the fact that the adw theme template itself was setup for 2.2 when I first started doing this stuff. I’m still very new to android and come from a web development background so I’m basically learning how to do all this stuff as I go. I just recently figured out how to get my themes working on mdpi phones so the next challenge is getting them to work on android 2.1.

Just an fyi that I finished making the code changes last night to have my themes be compatible with android 2.1. I’ll be rolling them out slowly in case I messed something up and I’ll be starting with the Black Glass theme sometime this afternoon.

I tried the 1.7 beta on my Samsung Intercept running Android 2.1 and it works fine and looks awesome. Any plans on making your others 2.1 compatible as well?

Sweet thanks. Yeah now that I know I set it up correctly I will convert all the rest of them to work on android 2.1.
